2024 Franco-Chinese Month of Environment Highlights Sustainable Food Development: CBCGDF One-Health Invited to Attend Thematic Lecture

In late September 2024, the One Health Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF-OneHealth) received an invitation from the French Embassy to participate in a thematic lecture on "One Health" during the Franco-Chinese Month of Environment. The lecture is scheduled to take place at the French Embassy in Beijing.

The event will center on the "One Health" approach, exploring how to achieve harmonious development in the food sector by balancing human, animal, and ecosystem health. As a priority initiative of several United Nations agencies, "One Health" is an interdisciplinary and integrated concept aimed at optimizing the health of humans, animals, and the environment. It not only offers strategies to address complex challenges in food safety, agricultural production, and environmental protection but also provides tangible solutions for the sustainable production of high-quality food.

According to the invitation, the lecture will cover several key topics, including the practical application of "One Health" in the food sector, ways to integrate environmental protection, agricultural production, and health, and efforts to reduce antibiotic use in livestock farming. Experts from China and France will gather to share insights and experiences from their respective fields, further promoting the in-depth implementation of the "One Health" concept.

For many years, the CBCGDF One Health Working Committee has been committed to advancing the promotion and practice of the "One Health" philosophy. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and multi-stakeholder engagement, the committee advocates for a balanced and coordinated approach to human, animal, and ecosystem health, aiming to address pressing challenges in public health, food security, and environmental protection. Their efforts contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals and global biodiversity conservation.

The CBCGDF One Health Committee expressed gratitude for the invitation and confirmed that they will send representatives to participate in the event.
