Zhou Jinfeng Attends and Delivers a Speech at the 8th China EHS & Sustainability Summit

On 23-24 May, Dr Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), travelled to Shanghai to attend and deliver a speech at the 8th China EHS& Sustainability Summit.

The theme of the speech was "Exploring the Path of Corporate Sustainability and Biodiversity Conservation".

 

Dr Zhou introduced the current status of biodiversity and its importance to nature and human well-being and emphasised the importance of biodiversity conservation in achieving the goal of sustainable development. He also stressed that biodiversity conservation requires the joint efforts of governments, businesses, NGOs and the public.

 

Dr Zhou also highlighted the mutually beneficial relationship between biodiversity conservation and sustainable business development, emphasising the role of innovation and collaboration.

 

Finally, the CBCGDF’s efforts to promote business involvement in biodiversity conservation were presented.

The 2024 World Water Forum (10th WWF) under the theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity" officially opened on Indonesia's island of Bali on Monday. This year ’ s theme emphasizes the need to work together to promote efficient and integrated water resources management to common prosperity. The 10th WWF ’ s six subthemes are: Water Security and Prosperity; Water for Humans and Nature; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Governance, Cooperation and Hydro-diplomacy; Sustainable Water Finance; and Knowledge and Innovation.
