World Fish Migration Day 2024: Free Flow

May 25, 2024 is World Fish Migration Day—a global celebration to raise awareness of the importance of free-flowing rivers and migratory fish.

World Fish Migration Day is a global awareness campaign celebrated every two years to highlight the connections that migratory fishes have with human and non-human species, lands, and waters. This day is marked by celebrations, events, and action campaigns organized by people around the world to connect fish, rivers, and people. World Fish Migration Foundation is the main organizer of World Fish Migration Day, and the theme for 2024 is Free Flow.

This World Fish Migration Day, know, imagine, and act for migratory fishes and free flowing rivers. Know fish connections with lands and waters and how they flourish when rivers flow more freely. Imagine and explore life underwater and act as stewards for migratory fishes.

The 2024 World Water Forum Opens in Indonesia's Bali

The 2024 World Water Forum (10th WWF) under the theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity" officially opened on Indonesia's island of Bali on Monday. This year ’ s theme emphasizes the need to work together to promote efficient and integrated water resources management to common prosperity. The 10th WWF ’ s six subthemes are: Water Security and Prosperity; Water for Humans and Nature; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Governance, Cooperation and Hydro-diplomacy; Sustainable Water Finance; and Knowledge and Innovation.
