CBCGDF BCON Working Group Proposed Suggestions for the Yancheng City Greening Regulations

In early April 2024, the Yancheng Natural Resources and Planning Bureau issued an announcement on soliciting public opinions on the Yancheng Greening Regulations (Draft Amendment) (Draft for Comments). The BCON Working Group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation actively responded to the call, organized discussions, and actively served scientific decision-making. After careful study, the following two suggestions are put forward for reference.

1. It is recommended that tree planting should take biodiversity into consideration, ensure diverse tree species, give priority to native tree species, and be wildlife-friendly.

2. It is recommended that wilderness/weeds/native vegetation should also be included in the calculation of vegetation coverage.
