CBCGDF Plastic Reduce and Pick-up Working Group Had a Review Meeting with INC-4 Delegations

In the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution (INC-4) held in Ottawa, Canada, from April 23 to 29, 2024, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) delegation participated on-site. After the meeting, the CBCGDF plastic reduction and pick-up working group reviewed the meeting with the delegation.

Representatives noted some impressive on-site features, such as banners and slogans surrounding the “Turning off the tap” sculpture to reduce plastic pollution. In addition, indigenous representatives emphasized the far-reaching impact of plastic pollution on the environment and human health at the meeting and called for the rapid development of legal instruments to end plastic pollution.

The 2024 World Water Forum (10th WWF) under the theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity" officially opened on Indonesia's island of Bali on Monday. This year ’ s theme emphasizes the need to work together to promote efficient and integrated water resources management to common prosperity. The 10th WWF ’ s six subthemes are: Water Security and Prosperity; Water for Humans and Nature; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Governance, Cooperation and Hydro-diplomacy; Sustainable Water Finance; and Knowledge and Innovation.
