CBCGDF Deputy Secretary-General Linda Wong Invited to the 20th Sustainable Development Trends Conference by China Business Council for Sustainable Development

Ms. Linda Wong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), has been invited to participate in the 20th Sustainable Development Trends Conference organized by the China Business Council for Sustainable Development (CBCSD). This year's conference focuses on "Sustainable Development in the Context of Unprecedented Global Changes."

The conference is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 22, from 14:30 to 17:00 in Beijing. The CBCSD Sustainable Development Trends Conference, now in its 20th year, has established itself as a premier platform for dialogue among government leaders, global business executives, international organizations, research institutions, and member enterprises. It is highly regarded for its role in fostering critical discussions on sustainability.

According to the agenda, the conference will highlight two key topics:

Topic 1: Sustainable Development Driving a Better Future for Enterprises

In an era characterized by rapid technological advancements, increasing climate-related disasters, and heightened geopolitical tensions, businesses face significant challenges. Resilience and innovation are crucial for companies to navigate unpredictable crises and changes. As the global economy gradually recovers, the focus of enterprises is shifting from mere survival to improving operations. Achieving this societal goal requires collective efforts from businesses, governments, and all sectors of society. Looking ahead, sustainable development will underpin the theoretical framework of the business ecosystem.

Topic 2: Release of the "2024 China Corporate Sustainability Trends Report"

With the intensification of global warming, sluggish economic recovery, and rising trade protectionism, the risks facing industry and commerce are becoming increasingly complex and daunting. Enhancing business resilience in turbulent environments is essential. The conference will unveil the "2024 China Corporate Sustainability Trends Report," which addresses key issues in the field of sustainable development. Several experts and corporate representatives will be invited to discuss these new trends and their implications for corporate sustainability.

Linda Wong has long been dedicated to promoting sustainable development, with a particular focus on responsible production and consumption. She has been instrumental in initiatives such as reducing disposable tableware in food delivery services, advocating for green meetings, and minimizing the waste of single-use bottled water. Her efforts have significantly contributed to the development and implementation of related policies and regulations in China. At the conference, Ms Wong will share her experiences and insights with fellow attendees, engaging in meaningful exchanges on sustainable practices.
