Talks on Invasive Species | CBCGDF Successfully Held a Satellite Event of the World Species Congress
On May 22, 2024 (the International Day for Biological Diversity), China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will hold a virtual satellite event themed on “Talks on Invasive Species”, together with the Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST), Journal of Latin America Sciences and Culture (JLASC) and BGI.
This event is also one of the satellite events of the first World Congress of Species, inviting domestic and foreign experts, scholars, government officials, and others to discuss the causes, major threats, recent trends, and prevention and control cases of invasive alien species, committed to contributing solutions and strategies to this global biodiversity conservation challenge.
H.E. Mr. Hugo Siles Núñez del Prado, Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia to the People's Republic of China, delivered a video speech at the event, introducing Bolivia's rich biodiversity resources, as well as a series of measures and achievements in biodiversity conservation and animal welfare, effectively raising public awareness and ensuring that these valuable resources are sustainably managed and protected.
Bolivia is located in the heart of South America, boasting stunning natural wonders and biodiversity. From the lush Amazon rainforest in the north to the majestic Andean in the west, Bolivia's diverse ecosystem, including dense tropical forests, vast wetlands filled with birds, and pristine high-altitude habitats inhabited by unique Andean species, is home to numerous flora and fauna. Bolivia has over 17 million hectares of protected areas (including national parks), serving as shelters and habitats for numerous species. In Bolivia, nature has shown its glorious side, deeply linked to the Earth's natural heritage, and reminding people of the importance of conservation work in protecting the Earth's biological resources.
