ZHOU Jinfeng Talks about Plastics and Plastic Packaging When Answering Questions from the Media

Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), recently accepted an exclusive interview with a media and answered its questions on his original intention or opportunity to enter the field of ecological and environmental protection public welfare, and his  feelings and gains in the field of environmental protection public welfare.

He pointed out that the use of plastic book covers generates a large amount of plastic waste every year, which is extremely harmful to the environment and human health. As businesses seek to maximize economic profits and benefits, plastic book covers are widely used, resulting in huge ecological costs. We issued a call: promoting ecological and environmental protection on campus and saying NO to plastic book covers.

Four departments including the General Office of the Ministry of Education and the General Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued a notice in 2019 requiring primary and secondary schools not to force students to use plastic book covers. After the notice was issued, certain restrictions were placed on the use of plastic book covers. Although there is still room for improvement, this is still a bit of progress. I believe that with continued promotion, this phenomenon will eventually change fundamentally.
