The protection of drinking water sources is a significant issue that impacts the well-being of society and ecological safety. It not only relates to ensuring safe drinking water but also involves maintaining ecological balance and promoting sustainable development. In 2015, under support from multiple organisatons, the Metropolitan Drinking Water Source Protection Special Fund of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was established with the primary objective of safeguarding water sources. The ecological and environmental protection of drinking water sources has always been a critical and long-term mission, as it directly affects the health and well-being of the population.

The central focus of this meeting was to explore ways to mobilize community participation and engage the public in the protection of urban drinking water sources. It emphasized the importance of involving the people in this critical endeavor.

During the work meeting, there was a brief overview of the progress made in recent years, followed by the deployment of key tasks for the upcoming year. Participants included members from CBCGDF's research department, project department, and office of international affairs .
