Representatives of CBCDGF Will Attend the 2023 World Conference on Science Literacy

The 2023 World Conference on Science Literacy (WCSL 2023) will be held from September 19 to 20 in Beijing Shijingshan Shougang Park, with the theme of “Enhancing Science Literacy and Working Together for Modernization”. China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will send two representatives to attend Conference.

The Conference will explore the significant importance of science popularization and the role of public science literacy in empowering societal modernization, and facilitate collaboration among countries in exploring paths to modernization. It will also revolve around emerging topics, common difficulties, and key issues in science popularization and improving public science literacy, such as science and technology education for the youth, the integration of science and art, paradigms of science popularization and communication, the development of science museums, and the participation of scientists in science popularization.

According to reports, the conference will cover a number of important agendas, including the opening ceremony, the keynote session, the specialized forums and the closing ceremony, which has attracted many experts and scholars at home and abroad to participate in the conference, to jointly disseminate ideas, share experience, and show the fruitful results of scientific quality.

Since its establishment in 1985, CBCGDF has always regarded improving the scientific quality of the public as one of the most important areas of work, and has set up a special communication department and established the “CBCGDF Media”. Through various popular science education activities, advocating environmental awareness, promoting biodiversity protection knowledge and other measures, CBCGDF and its team of experts strive to improve the scientific literacy of the public in China, in order to serve ecological civilization and green development.

On November 18, 2020, CBCGDF hosted the theme forum of “Public Science Literacy and Ecological Civilization Construction” at the 2020 World Conference on Science Literacy. After three years, the representatives of CBCGDF will participate in the 2023 World Conference on Science Literacy, and will earnestly study and actively share, make more contributions to the realization of green sustainable development goals, and contribute to the promotion of scientific literacy and green development.
