CBCGDF Chairman XIE Boyang Addressed to ICCOP 2023: Work Together to Meet Environmental Challenges and Jointly Create a Better Future

China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2023) was successfully held in Beijing from September 2 to September 6, 2023. And China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) organized three conferences on environmental services, including the ICCOP 2023 with the theme of “Dual Carbon Goals and Environmental Services”. ICCOP 2023 was held in National Indoor Stadium on September 3, and Mr. XIE Boyang, Chairman of CBCGDF, delivered opening remarks, which are translated and edited as follows:

Distinguished guests,

Good morning! First of all, please allow me, on behalf of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, to express my warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the international and domestic guests attending the conference themed on “Dual Carbon Goals and Environmental Services”.

In recent years, global environmental problems such as climate change, biodiversity decline, ozone layer depletion and destruction, acid rain spread, forest reduction, land desertification, air pollution, marine pollution, water pollution and shortage have become more and more serious. The mankind has reached the crossroads of development. If we cross the tipping point, mankind will suffer irreversible climate impacts.

There is only one Earth. Protecting the ecological environment and addressing climate change require the concerted efforts of all countries in the world, and no country can stay out of it. All countries must find feasible ways to solve problems through sincere and pragmatic international cooperation, instead of using it as a game tool. As the largest developing country in the world, China regards green and sustainable development as an important strategy for national development, and will continue to promote green and low-carbon development, strengthen environmental protection, and strive to achieve a benign interaction between economic development and ecological environmental protection.

As a significant event in the field of world service trade, CIFTIS is committed to promoting international cooperation and exchanges. As one of the organizers of the environmental service zone, CBCGDF has been working hard in the field of green development for many years. Since its establishment, it has always been committed to advocating ecological civilization, promoting green development, protecting biodiversity and ecological environment, and has made a series of major achievements in innovation, research, science popularization, etc., which has been widely supported and acknowledged by the society and the world.

We will continue to spare no effort to promote and support the green and low-carbon transformation of enterprises, strengthen the innovation ability, accelerate the pace of innovation, and improve the quality of products and services. Through this exhibition zone, we hope to provide a platform for domestic and foreign enterprises to display the latest environmental protection scientific and technological achievements, exchange innovative ideas and seek cooperation opportunities. I believe that with the joint efforts of all of us, CIFTIS 2023 will be a complete success and will definitely make positive contributions to promoting global economic growth and sustainable development.
