2023 World Conference on Science Literacy Kicks Off in Beijing, CBCGDF Deputy Secretary-General in Attendance
On September 19, 2023, at 9:00 AM Beijing time, the 2023 World Conference on Science Literacy (WCSL 2023) commenced at the Beijing Shougang Park. The Deputy Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Ms. Linda Wong was in attendance at this significant event.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished figures, including H.E. Mr. Erik Solheim, the former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and former Executive Director of the UN Environment (UN Environment), and who also serves as a Senior Advisor to the CBCGDF. Mr. Erik Solheim delivered a very insightful speech during the conference, emphasizing the importance of science literacy and its impact on global development. His speech earned high welcome from the audience.This conference has attracted scientists, educators, and science enthusiasts from around the world, all converging to explore ways to enhance public scientific literacy and ignite the curiosity of young minds towards science. The opening session featured a series of captivating presentations, shedding light on the vital role of science literacy in societal progress.
