IPBES-10 : Discussion on the Impact of Invasive Alien Species | CBCGDF Delegation Reports

The tenth session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES 10) was held in Bonn, Germany, from 28 August to 2 September 2023. As an observer to IPBES, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) sent its delegation to attend the conference on site.

On August 30th, 2023, Working Group I conducted discussions on Item 7 “Invasive alien species assessment”. The Assessment Report on Invasive Alien Species and their Control will be an important achievement of IPBES 10, which comprehensively introduces the current status of the most threatening invasive alien species.

At the meeting, participating experts provided suggestions on the negative impacts of invasive alien species, impacts on islands, data availability, species valuation, and impacts on oceans and inland waters.
