The First Annual Meeting of CBCGDF‘s Environmental and Allergy Medicine Special Committee Kicked Off in Wuhan, with The Youth Scientist Program Launched

The "First Annual Meeting of the Environmental and Allergy Medicine Special Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF)" was successfully held on September 21, 2023, in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF, attended the opening ceremony of the conference.

Allergies are closely tied to environmental health, with environmental factors like pollen, pollution, and chemical exposure triggering immune responses that result in a range of allergic reactions. Understanding this connection is vital for public health, as addressing environmental contributors to allergies can lead to improved treatments and a healthier, more sustainable future.

This conference, organized by the Environmental and Allergy Medicine Special Committee of CBCGDF, attracted the participation of numerous experts, scholars, and young scientists in related fields. The meeting focused on the research progress of allergic diseases, actively explored the relationship between allergic diseases and the environment, and launched the Youth Scientist Program. It aims to provide an essential platform for exchange by gathering experts, scholars, and young talents in the field of allergy medicine.

The Youth Scientist Program aims to provide young scientists with a broader platform and opportunities, inspiring them to carry out novel and innovative research work and promote innovation and development in the field of allergy medicine. This initiative is also a positive response to the call of the Central Government's "Several Measures on Further Strengthening the Cultivation and Use of Young Science and Technology Talents."

In his opening speech at the conference, Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, emphasized the importance of this meeting. He pointed out that the incidence of allergic diseases is on the rise globally, posing significant challenges to human health and life. Zhou Jinfeng stated that we should consider the close relationship between environmental and allergy medicine under the concept of "One Health" and emphasize the interdisciplinary integration of allergy medicine with environmental science, humanities, and social sciences. Environmental factors play a crucial role in the development of allergic diseases. He encouraged young talents in allergy medicine to use innovative thinking, clinical research achievements, and social responsibility to provide scientific support and solutions to global human health and environmental protection issues.
