Wang Yanjing’s farm is a “Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood” Demonstration Site awarded by CBCGDF BCON Working Group. It is not only an experimental field for ecological cultivation, but also a place to “question” the agricultural methods taken for granted in traditional industrial civilization. He emphasized the health of the soil and the proper matching of soil and crops, in contrast to the agricultural practices of the past, which used fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides on a large scale. He believes that the core of ecological agriculture is the use of natural forces to restore the natural balance of ecosystems, no longer rely on pesticides and fertilizers’ “chemical confrontation”.

The significance of BCON is to reduce the destruction and interference of human beings to the natural environment through various measures taken in our daily life and production process, protect biodiversity, and promote the harmony between man and nature. This not only helps to maintain the balance and stability of the ecosystem, but also helps to improve the quality of human life and welfare.

Wang Yanjing’s farm practices the concept of BCON, simplifying the ecological agriculture model, emphasizing the importance of weeds, and using diversity to promote biodiversity. He firmly believes that farmers should return to their original, low-cost, green and ecological traditional farming methods, which will not only benefit farmers’ health, but also promote sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
