CBCGDF Service Station in Hangzhou Launched During the 2023 National Science Popularization Day and the 37th Science Popularization Week of Xiaoshan District

The 2023 National Science Popularization Day and the 37th Science Popularization Week of Xiaoshan District, co-hosted by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), the Zhejiang Provincial Science Popularization Federation (in preparation), the Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology, and the Xiaoshan District People's Government, were officially held from September 12th to 13th at the The World Tourism Museum in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City.

Mr. Erik Solheim, the former United Nations Under-Secretary-General, former Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme and Senior Advisor of CBCGDF, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary General of CBCGDF, and Chen Yuchu, Chairman of Hangzhou Aquatic Plant Society, among other Chinese and foreign experts, participated in local activities on-site or online. With the theme of "Inserting Wings of Science Popularization for Green Development", people got together to popularize cutting-edge green development concepts and cases to the public, sparking people's attention and reflection on ecological protection and green development, in response to the convening of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

The Hangzhou Service Station of CBCGDF also made an official launch at this event, unveiled by Mr. Wei Tianliang, Deputy Secretary General of CBCGDF. Under the guidance and promotion of the Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology and the active coordination of the Xiaoshan District Association for Science and Technology, the Hangzhou Service Station of CBCGDF was successfully built in Xianghu. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the protection and development of Xianghu Lake. Xiaoshan proposed to work hard to "sing the 'Romance at the Western Chamber'" and strive to "create a world-class golden business card for Hangzhou". The establishment of the Hangzhou Service Station will bring more impetus into the green and sustainable development of Xianghu Lake.

The important science popularization brand Sci2U (Science to You) of the Zhejiang Provincial Science Popularization Federation also made its debut at the event. Sci2U, with the theme of "Inserting Wings of Science Popularization for Green Development", will carry out science popularization and sharing under three chapters: Global Consensus, Technology Assistance, and Green Asian Games.
