CBCGDF presented a Certificate to the youth delegate, to thank her dedication during the on-site participation in the Global Intergovernmental Meeting on Minerals and Metals in Geneva
On September 15, 2023, CBCGDF presented a special certificate (CBCGDF [2023] Ref G168) to the youth members of the delegation to thank them for their contribution and dedication during the on-site participation in the Global Intergovernmental Meeting on Minerals and Metals in Geneva, Switzerland, representing the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF).
Mining plays an important role in sustainable development, however, the
pursuit of economic development needs to be accompanied by the need to address
the environmental crises that are currently being faced, namely climate change,
biodiversity loss and land degradation. The Global Intergovernmental Meeting on
Minerals and Metals was an important international event, organized by the
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held in Geneva on September
7-8, 2023, which aimed to promote the sustainable management and development of
global mineral and metal resources. Throughout the conference, CBCGDF youth
representatives actively participated in the international dialog and actively
shared good stories from China, all of which are commendable. This certificate
read, "Thank you for your dedication and efforts."
The young generation are the future main force of global environmental
governance. China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation
(CBCGDF) has long regarded the cultivation of young talents as one of its core
areas of work. Initiatives include, but are not limited to, building a global
volunteer network of young talents, recommending experts to serve in
international organizations in an eclectic manner, actively participating in
important global governance platforms and making China's voice heard,
recommending Chinese scientists to run for leadership positions in
international organizations, and organizing a long-term workshop on capacity-building
for global environmental governance, among other things. The opening of
delegation slots for young delegates to participate in international
conferences is one of these efforts.
