How to Carry Out “Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood” in Agriculture?

Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood (BCON) is an innovative approach to protecting biodiversity by mobilizing the public. This approach refers to protecting the ecological environment by minimizing the intrusion on nature within the scope of people's lives and in the process of production and life. This new idea of biodiversity conservation was proposed by Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation.

In agricultural practices, BCON methods can be applied, such as adopting ecological farming models or agricultural practice methods to ensure the ecological balance of farmland by maximizing the use of natural ecosystems and biodiversity while reducing dependence on chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

For example, in agricultural production, BCON can be reflected as:

1. Agriculture Practice by BCON: Co-Growing with Weeds

2. Biological Control

3. Promote Soil Health

4. Simplified Production Model
