“Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-friendly Cities and Communities” is the Theme of World Migratory Bird Day 2025
World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) announced the theme for the 2025 global campaign, which will be dedicated to creating bird-friendly cities and communities.
There will be a focus on the need for a healthy co-existence between people and birds. It will focus on all communities, from bustling cities to smaller towns and communities, creating and adapting environments that support migratory bird populations. To protect the spaces we share with wildlife, there are actions everyone can take.
In 2025, the WMBD will raise awareness of the many challenges that migratory birds face as a result of human activities and the expansion of urban development. The campaign will advocate for strategic urban planning and conservation efforts that incorporate bird-friendly practices. It will ensure that our communities become havens for these remarkable travellers. The 2025 theme encourages action from all sectors. This includes national and local governments, businesses, community groups and individuals around the world.
