CBCGDF Invited to Attend the 20th Regular Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture

The 20th Regular Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, which will be held at FAO headquarters in Rome from 24 to 28 March 2025. The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was invited to attend the meeting.

 


The 20th Regular Session of the Commission will Session will focus on: genetic resources and biodiversity for food and agriculture; the role of genetic resources for food and agriculture in mitigation of and adaptation to climate change; access and benefit-sharing; digital sequence information; and options for the future identification of new and emerging issues.

 

At the session, the Commission will elect the Chairperson and six Vice-Chairpersons at

the end of the session. In addition, Members should be prepared to elect the Members of its intergovernmental technical working groups.

 

Genetic resources are becoming increasingly important in global food security and sustainable agricultural development. As the challenges brought by global climate change become more severe, the work of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture will provide important policy support for promoting global agricultural development. The CBCGDF International Department will send delegates to attend this meeting and we welcome relevant experts, scientific and technological workers and young volunteers to join us.
