CBCGDF Delegation Invited to Attend the INC-5 High-Level-Observer Dialogue Meeting | November 24, Busan, South Korea

On November 14, 2024, the Secretariat of the fifth Session of the United Nations Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to Prepare an International Legally Binding Instrument on Plastic Pollution, including in the Marine Environment (INC-5) sent an invitation to the International Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF).

As an observer organization of the fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution, including in the Marine Environment (INC-5),  CBCGDF is invited to participate in an in-person conversation with Ms. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, His Excellency Ambassador Luis Vayas Valdivieso, Chair of the INC, and Mrs. Jyoti Mathur-Filipp, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC), which will be held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in South Korea from 15:00 to 16:00 on November 24, 2024.The conversation is scheduled to take place in Contact Group 2 Room (Room 205), Second Floor, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center on Sunday, 24 November 2024, from 15:00-16:00 hrs. 

Members of the CBCGDF INC-5 delegation will attend the meeting on site.

The fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) will be held in Busan, a port city in southern South Korea, from November 25 to December 1, 2024. This meeting is also the last intergovernmental negotiating committee of the INC series of meetings, which will finally complete and form the draft of the plastic treaty instrument. In order to actively participate in the global governance of plastic pollution, CBCGDF organized a delegation to attend the first four intergovernmental negotiating committee meetings (INC-1, INC-2, INC-3 and INC-4) in Paris, France, Nairobi, Kenya, Ottawa, Canada, etc., submitted proposals and actively make suggestions, and actively play the role of Chinese social organizations in the signing of the global marine plastic pollution governance treaty. The CBCGDF has now formed a CBCGDF INC-5 delegation, and the materials for the meeting are ready. They will go to Busan to attend the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5).
