CBCGDF Invited to Attend the Youth and Stakeholder Assembly on Plastic Pollution (YSA) | Dongseo University, Busan, November 24

At the request of the Portuguese government, the Secretariat of the  Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC)  on Plastic Pollution transmitted an invitation by the Government of Portugal to a "Youth and Stakeholder Assembly on Plastic Pollution (YSA)" to the International Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF).

CBCGDF is invited to attend the YSA to to be held on 24 November 2024 at the Dongseo University Centum Campus in Busan, Republic of Korea.

Children and Youth Major Group (CYMG) serves as the formal youth engagement mechanism for UNEP & has consistently championed youth priorities throughout the plastics treaty negotiations. In preparation for INC-5,CYMG is convening a Youth and Stakeholder Assembly that will bring together a diverse array of rightsholders & stakeholders to mobilize bold actions & coordinate advocacy efforts.

The fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) will be held in Busan, a port city in southern South Korea, from November 25 to December 1, 2024. This meeting is also the last intergovernmental negotiating committee of the INC series of meetings, which will finally complete and form the draft of the plastic treaty instrument. In order to actively participate in the global governance of plastic pollution, CBCGDF organized a delegation to attend the first four intergovernmental negotiating committee meetings (INC-1, INC-2, INC-3 and INC-4) in Paris, France, Nairobi, Kenya, Ottawa, Canada, etc., submitted proposals and actively make suggestions, and actively play the role of Chinese social organizations in the signing of the global marine plastic pollution governance treaty. The CBCGDF has now formed a CBCGDF INC-5 delegation, and the materials for the meeting are ready. They will go to Busan to attend the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5).
