Recently, Linda Wong, the editor-in-chief of the "OceanWetlands" and Chief of CBCGDF's INC-5 Delegation was interviewed by Caixin Weekly. The interview, published in the 46th issue of Caixin Weekly on November 25, 2024, features an article titled “Should Plastic Production Be Restricted at the Source? The 5th Global Plastic Negotiations Are About to Begin”.
In the interview, Linda Wong shared her experiences and observations in multiple United Nations Environmental Assemblies (UNEA) and other related UN conferences over the past years, during which she has closely followed the evolution of plastic pollution negotiations. Although she acknowledges the immense challenges that come with tackling this issue, she remains hopeful for meaningful progress at the upcoming 5th session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) on the to-borne Plastic Pollution Treaty.
