Azerbaijan is the First Country to Receive ISO 20121 Certification in COP Conference History

The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP29) was held in Azerbaijan’s capital city of Baku. China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) sent the delegation to attend the Conference.

The COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has been awarded ISO 20121 certification, making Azerbaijan the first country in the history of the COP conference to receive this certification for sustainable event management and organisation criteria prior to the conclusion of the event. This certification confirms that the event was organised in an environmentally responsible, socially inclusive and economically sustainable manner.

The award ceremony was attended by UNFCCC officials, COP29 Azerbaijan OC leadership and representatives of strategic contractors.
