Live Countdown! The 19th Annual Meeting of the International Conference on Genomics Will Be Held in Shenzhen on November 21

 The 19th Annual Meeting of the International Conference on Genomics (ICG-19) will be held at the BGI Space-Time Center in Shenzhen, China from November 21 to 24, 2024. The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) is the co-organizer of this conference. CBCGDF will broadcast the entire event live for 4 days. Interested experts or scholars are welcome to watch!

 


This year, ICG-19 will explore the future development of biotechnology and bioindustry, covering a series of cutting-edge scientific topics from omics breakthroughs to biodiversity genomics, metagenomics, brain science and aging, public health and precision medicine. A series of topics on women and young scholars in the field of science will also continue to be discussed.

 

The Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF will attend the meeting and give a speech at the "Biodiversity" theme lecture.

The world’s ocean ecosystems are facing mounting threats—climate change, marine pollution, overfishing, and habitat destruction due to human activities, to name a few. These pressures are particularly dangerous for marine mammals like cetaceans, whose survival hinges on healthy habitats and stable populations. Yet, in regions like the South China Sea, where biodiversity is exceptionally high, little research has been done to understand the needs and habitats of cetaceans.
