Shandong authorities called | CBCGDF-BCON Policy Advisory—— Serving Scientific Decision Making
On the morning of 26 March, 2024, a staff member from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province called to provide feedback on the recommendations submitted by the "Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood (BCON)" Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) a few days ago. While expressing appreciation and gratitude for CBCGDF-BCON's advice, she also introduced in detail the policies by Shandong Province in recent years in promoting cultural tourism, developing eco-agriculture, revitalising the countryside, and promoting the high-quality development of rural agriculture.
On 21 March 2024, CBCGDF-BCON actively responded to the call to conduct a discussion on the newly released "Implementation Plan on Promoting Tourism Shopping Consumption (2024-2026) (Draft for Comments)" in Shandong Province, with a view to actively serving scientific decision-making. In response to the draft proposal, the Working Group submits two suggestions:
First, it is recommended to add cultural and tourism contents based on ecological agriculture, combining "high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas" with the policy of promoting tourism consumption.
Secondly, it is suggested to add the content of "nature watching" to give full play to the advantages of natural resources in Shandong, so as to promote nature-friendly tourism consumption.
CBCGDF-BCON will continue to pay close attention to this and contribute to the construction of its ecological civilisation.
