CAO Meijuan Attended a Hearing at the Beijing Xicheng Procuratorate | CBCGDF’s Focus on the Environmental Public Interest Litigation

On March 21, 2024, Ms. Cao Meijuan, a staff of the Legal Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), participated in relevant activities organized by the Xicheng District Peoples Procuratorate of Beijing. As a volunteer and hearing officer of the Procuratorate, Ms. Cao attended a hearing of criminal incidental civil public interest litigation cases, made relevant suggestions on the qualifications of the defendant in the case and the litigation claims of the civil public interest litigation case.

Procuratorial hearings are an institutional innovation in the new era for procuratorial organs to proactively transform their judicial case-handling concepts, improve case-handling methods, widely listen to opinions, and accept external supervision.

As a volunteer of the Procuratorate, Cao is very honored to share her experiences in environmental public interest litigation at the CBCGDF.
