CBCGDF Ocean Working Group will Participate in the 2nd Preparatory Meeting for the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) 

The Second Preparatory Meeting for the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4)will be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from April 1 to 5, 2024. As a special certification body for SIDS4, the Ocean Working Group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) will send personnel to attend this meeting.

The Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) will be held in St. John's, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, from May 27 to 30, 2024, under the theme Charting the course toward resilient prosperity. The Conference will aim at assessing the ability of SIDS to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. 

It will result in an intergovernmentally agreed, focused, forward-looking and action-oriented political outcome document that will establish a new Small Island Developing States Action Plan and set specific, measurable goals to support small island developing countries. The country will achieve the sustainable development goals in the next ten years.

Invited stakeholders, including organizations with access to previous United Nations conferences on the sustainable development of small island developing States, as well as those with special accreditation to attend the Fourth Conference on Small Island Developing States, can now register to attend the 2024 Conference The second meeting of the SIDS4 Preparatory Committee was held on April 1 (plenary meeting only). 

In addition, specially recognized social organizations, major groups and other relevant stakeholders can now submit written statements and provide input to the second meeting of the SIDS4 Preparatory Committee. Deadline: April 5, 2024.
