Ouyang Zhiyun Addresses "Advancing National Biodiversity Protection Strategy Action Plan Symposium" | Hosted by CBCGDF

On March 29, 2024, at the "Symposium on Promoting the China National Strateqic Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation" hosted by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), Mr. Ouyang Zhiyun, a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences in the United States and a researcher at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an insightful speech.

He emphasized that the Earth has entered the sixth mass extinction of life. Some organisms have already become extinct before they have been discovered. Both in situ and ex situ conservation are important measures to protect biodiversity. The management system of national parks is crucial for protecting the habitats and biodiversity that species rely on for survival. In this regard, we still need to continue to strengthen research.
