CBCGDF's Reduce & Pick Plastics WG Invited to Participate in "Turning off the Tap: Ending Plastic Pollution and Creating a Circular Economy — Perspectives Leading up to INC-4" Event Hosted by Canadian Embassy in China

The Fourth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on an International Legally Binding Instrument to Address Plastic Pollution, including in the Marine Environment (INC-4), also known as the Fourth Meeting of the Negotiating Committee on a Plastic Pollution Treaty, will be held in Ottawa, Canada in April 2024. This critical meeting will bring together representatives from governments, intergovernmental organizations, and civil society to continue negotiations on a legally binding instrument to address the global plastic pollution crisis.  And the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), a long-term practitioner in fighting against plastic pollution, will send a delegate to Ottawa to participate in the upcoming INC-4.

In March 2024, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), through its Reduce & Pick Plastics Working Group, has been extended an invitation to partake in an upcoming environmental event slated for March 22, 2024. Organized by the Embassy of Canada to China, this half-day event, titled "Turning off the Tap: Ending Plastic Pollution and Creating a Circular Economy — Perspectives Leading up to INC-4," is set to take place from 9 am to 1 pm at the Embassy's premises in Beijing.

According to the invitation letter, the event aims to delve into critical discussions surrounding the global endeavour to combat plastic pollution and foster a circular economy. It provides a platform for policymakers, researchers, non-profit organizations, and businesses from China and Canada to share insights and initiatives aimed at curbing plastic pollution. Notably, the event will feature presentations both in-person and virtually, with speakers joining from UNEP, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Canada etc.
