We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Second Intercontinental Meeting on Science Literacy: The Science Culture Construction. This event aims to explore the critical role of science culture in shaping societal understanding and engagement with scientific concepts.


We invite submissions of papers and presentations on topics related to science literacy, including but not limited to:


  • Science Education Innovations: Papers could explore novel approaches and innovations in science education, such as inquiry-based learning, experiential learning, or the integration of technology in science classrooms.

  • Science Communication and Public Engagement: Topics in this area could include effective science communication strategies, public perceptions of science, science in the media, and engaging diverse audiences in scientific discourse.

  • Cultural Factors and Science Literacy: Explore how cultural factors, including language, religion, and socio-economic status, influence science literacy levels and attitudes towards science in different regions and populations.

  • Digital Literacy and Science: Examine the intersection between digital literacy and science literacy, including the role of digital technologies in science education, online science communication, and digital tools for scientific inquiry.

  • Environmental Science and Sustainability Education: Address the importance of environmental science literacy and sustainability education in addressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and resource management.

  • Interdisciplinary Approaches to Science Education: Explore interdisciplinary approaches to science education, such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, and the integration of multiple disciplines in science curricula.

  • Assessment and Evaluation of Science Literacy: Present research on the development and validation of science literacy assessment tools, methods for measuring science literacy levels, and evaluating the effectiveness of science education interventions.

  • Science Policy and Advocacy: Discuss the role of science policy and advocacy in promoting science literacy, including policies to support science education, science communication initiatives, and advocacy efforts to promote evidence-based decision-making.

  • Ethics and Social Responsibility in Science Education: Address ethical considerations in science education, including scientific integrity, responsible conduct of research, and ethical implications of scientific discoveries and technologies.

  • Global Perspectives on Science Literacy: Share insights and experiences from different regions and cultures around the world, highlighting successful science literacy initiatives, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration.


Accepted papers will be presented at the Intercontinental Congress of Science and Technology ICST 2024 and published in the conference proceedings, https://journalasc.org/2024/01/13/icst2024/

  • Submission Deadline: June 15th

  • Notification of Acceptance: July 15th

  • Meeting Date: August 15th
