CBCGDF Clean Internet for Conophytum and the Environmental Public Interest Litigation

As a member of the Species Survival Commission (SSC) of the the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, as an expert of the working group on illegal trade in succulent plants, and Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF), established the CBCGDF “Clean Internet for Conophytum” on March 9, 2023.

Dr. Zhou continued to pay attention to the illegal trade of Conophytum plants, raised public awareness, bravely said "no" to the wild Cone trade, and urged e-commerce and social media to strictly investigate and remove wild Conophytum species from the shelves as soon as possible.

For example, a letter was sent to eBay urging the closure of seller accounts involved in the illegal trade of wild succulent plants;

Led by Dr. ZHOU, the case of the ecological environment damage compensation lawsuit between the CBCGDF and Chen Qing-Yangzhong City Lulu Succulent Plant Cultivation Professional Cooperative, Jiangsu Province Senior has been accepted by The Higher People's Court of Jiangsu Province on December 21, 2023, and transferred to the Environmental Resources Tribunal for trial.
