Sika Deer Rescued from 10-Foot Flood Channel by CBCGDF Volunteers
On January 13, 2025, a two-year-old male deer in Dalian accidentally fell into the 3-meter-deep flood discharge channel of the Lotus Community. After receiving the news, Mr. Chen Liang, director of the Dalian Sika Deer Conservation Area of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), quickly organized volunteers and rushed to the scene with rescue supplies. The volunteers worked together and finally successfully rescued the sika deer.
The rescued sika deer was sent to a safe
place, although its steps were unstable , it stood up and was able to walk
slowly soon after. At present, the sika deer has safely returned to the herd.
Except for a minor leg injury, it is in good overall condition. CBCGDF volunteers
said that they will continue to follow its recovery and provide further help if
necessary.
