CBCGDF Submitted Two Motions to the 2025 WCC on Species Conservation and Carbon Platform

On January 15, 2025, in order to actively participate in global environmental governance and promote the construction of a community for life on Earth, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) submitted two motions for the 2025 World Conservation Congress (WCC) to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN): "Appeal for global prevention of propeller-inflicted deaths on endangered species" and "Promoting the establishment of a global carbon credit accreditation and trading platform".

The 2025 World Conservation Congress will be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, from October 9th to 15th. The conference is held every four years and is the world's largest international conservation forum that connects governments, ecological conservation organizations and indigenous communities, dedicated to formulating global priorities for nature conservation and climate change for the next decade and beyond.

A motion is a decision-making mechanism for IUCN members to promote actions and plans from various stakeholders, focusing on specific environmental issues. After being reviewed and approved by the motion working group, it will be submitted to global members for discussion, modification, and final voting to determine whether it will be passed into a conference resolution. The conference resolution will influence national and international policies by setting clear goals and actions, and promote global or regional practices to address key environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, climate change, and ecosystem degradation.
