Multiple Working Groups Jointly Promote Environmental Governance and Biodiversity Conservation, CBCGDF International Department Held the 1st Global Environmental Governance Capacity Building Workshop in 2025 (142 in Total)

On the morning of January 3, 2025, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), the Ocean and Wetlands Working Group, the Bat Conservation Action Network Working Group, and the Biological and Scientific Ethics Committee jointly held the 1st Global Environmental Governance Capacity Building Workshop in 2025 (142 in Total), aiming to improve the dissemination effect of marine and wetland biodiversity conservation information through in-depth analysis of dissemination data and discussion of dissemination strategies, and help Chinese scientific and technological workers play a greater role in global environmental governance, and summarize and analyze the relevant work of each working group.

The persons in charge of each platform shared the dissemination data of last week in detail, including key indicators such as reading volume, number of likes, and number of reposts. The participants conducted an in-depth analysis of these data and clarified the advantages and disadvantages of the current dissemination activities. At the same time, they discussed how to timely and comprehensively disseminate major events in which they participated; as well as communication and collaboration between platforms to achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages.

The persons in charge of relevant working groups reported on the progress of the 2024 annual summary report. The working groups have actively carried out work in the fields of climate change, ecological protection, and scientific ethics, and have achieved remarkable results.

The Climate Change Working Group actively participated in the international climate agenda. For example, at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Baku, it promoted the participation of multiple stakeholders by forming a delegation and successfully obtained financial support from the Azerbaijani government. In addition, the working group also nominated Chinese scientists to participate in the important work process of the IPCC and contribute Chinese wisdom to global climate change research.

The Ocean and Wetland Working Group continues to publish high-quality original content through the "Ocean and Wetland" WeChat public platform, pays attention to the dynamics of international environmental conventions and organizations, and promotes the mainstreaming of biodiversity. The number of subscribers to the platform has increased significantly, becoming an important channel for scientific and technological workers and the public to obtain environmental governance information. The Ocean and Wetland Group also actively participates in international activities to showcase China's efforts and achievements in ecological protection.

The Committee on Biological and Scientific Ethics launched a series of collections entitled "Prospective Research on Ethical Issues in Scientific and Technological Innovation" to interpret scientific and technological ethics issues, and held a youth conference to explore the impact of the digital society. The One Health Working Committee is committed to promoting the dissemination and practice of the "One Health" concept and promoting the balance and coordination between the health of humans, animals and ecosystems.

The Bat Conservation Action Network Working Group and the Cone Cleanup Action Working Group have made progress in bat protection and combating illegal succulent plant trade respectively. The Cone Cleanup Action has effectively reduced the online trading volume of illegal wild Cone through environmental public interest litigation and promoting the removal of illegal goods from e-commerce platforms.

The Wind and Solar Conservation Working Group actively participates in international environmental governance conferences to promote the synergy between clean energy and biodiversity conservation. The Responsible Tourism Working Committee is committed to promoting the concept of responsible tourism, preparing for international biodiversity and responsible tourism conferences, and promoting the green development of the tourism industry.
