ESG started late in China but developed rapidly. The core value of economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and social equity it advocates is highly consistent with strategic goals such as sustainable development, common prosperity, and the realization of "dual carbon", and is an important driving force for promoting high-quality social and economic development. In April 2024, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and Beijing Stock Exchange issued the "Sustainable Development Report Guidelines", and my country's ESG construction is gradually being standardized and normalized.
What is not matched with the rapid development of ESG is the lack of corresponding professional standards for ESG practitioners, which leads to the lack of targeted guidance, analysis and planning in the process of ESG implementation, evaluation, supervision and management. Therefore, the CBCGDF Group Standard Working Committee, based on the previous "ESG Evaluation Standards", jointly formulated the "ESG Professional Standards" with relevant units to clarify the professional requirements of ESG practitioners and help promote the standardization and regularization of ESG.
