CBCGDF Volunteers Organize Net Clearing And Trap Clearing Operations to Protect Wildlife
Unity is strength. From January 20 to 22, 2025, after another heavy snowfall at the beginning of this winter, Qing'an County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, organized a large number of personnel to go into the mountains to clear nets and traps to protect wild animals.
Volunteers from the CBCGDF Suihua Nature Reserve participated in the joint operation. It is understood that this centralized net clearing and trap clearing operation was organized by the Qing'an County Procuratorate, and participated by the Qing'an County Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Qing'an County Forest Police, Yichun City Forest Police Shuangfeng Branch, Liuhe Police Station, Liuhe Farm Co., Ltd., China Green Development Foundation volunteers and China Wildlife Conservation Association volunteers.
Around January 20, there was another heavy snowfall in the area. In order to protect local wildlife and implement the "stationed + auxiliary" forestry and grassland administrative law enforcement model in the national key forest areas, the Qing'an County Procuratorate took the lead in organizing this net clearing and trap clearing operation. Before the net clearing and trap clearing operation, relevant parties conducted a thorough analysis and prediction of specific locations where wildlife poaching may occur. After the operation began, everyone went to the forest areas of Maolin Section 2 and Han Paoying in Qing'an County and went up the mountain to clear the traps on the spot.
Compared with previous years, the provincial and municipal governments have attached great importance to the protection of wildlife and ecology in forest areas this year, and have taken concrete actions to do so. According to statistics from CBCGDF volunteers, 40 to 50 people were dispatched in the three-day campaign from January 20 to 22 alone, and more than 20 poaching iron traps or iron traps were cleared from the forest area, effectively protecting the precious wildlife resources living in the local forest area from harm.
