How to Be a Responsible Tourist|CBCGDF Responsible Tourism Working Group

 With the development of social economy, tourism has gradually become an important part of economic growth. Tourism can not only promote the development of local economy, but also bring many social values and influences. At the same time, it inevitably causes negative environmental impacts on our homeland. With the exposure of many problems, responsible tourism has become a tourism development concept strongly advocated by various countries. This article mainly starts from the background of the concept of responsible tourism, and tells the origin of responsible tourism, the way of responsible tourism, and the impact and significance of responsible tourism.

 


Tourism refers to the activities of tourists leaving their daily residence and going to other regions or countries for visits, sightseeing, leisure or adventure. For many countries and regions, tourism income is one of the important sources of economy. Tourism can drive local employment, promote economic development and improve infrastructure. However, tourism can also have a certain negative impact on the local environment and culture. Therefore, responsible tourism has become an important concept, emphasizing the need to balance the interests of economy, society and environment in the process of tourism development.

 

Tourism can promote cultural exchanges among people in different regions and enhance people's cultural cognition and tolerance. Through tourism, people can truly experience the economic, cultural and social development of other places, thereby promoting cooperation and exchanges between regions. Tourism helps people understand the traditional culture of different regions and thus increase people's cultural literacy.

 

The negative impacts of tourism mainly include environmental pollution, increased carbon emissions, ecological damage and overdevelopment. During their travels, tourists will generate a lot of garbage, which will cause great pollution to the local environment. The irresponsible tourism behavior of tourists will cause local water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution to a certain extent. For example, the garbage generated by tourists and improper disposal methods may lead to water and soil pollution. In addition, tourism transportation may also lead to increased carbon emissions, deterioration of air quality and noise pollution.

 

What are responsible tourism methods?

 

Travel in a low-carbon manner, respect local cultural customs, choose local seasonal foods, and pay attention to your daily behavior when traveling.

 

Once the global tourism industry is formed, it will not stop. In the process of development, the tourism industry will develop along with the development of the global economy and society, and the scale of development will become larger and the speed of development will become faster. As a tourist, we should try to reduce the negative impact that tourism will inevitably bring, and we have the obligation and responsibility to reduce it to the minimum.
