ZHOU Jinfeng Appointed as the Chief Consultant of the National Ecological Civilization Experimental Zone (Hainan) Research Center

Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Founding Chair of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), President of World Academy of Sustainable Development Limited (WAOSD), Fellow of World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), recently formally accepted the appointment letter of the chief consultant of the National Ecological Civilization Experimental Zone (Hainan) Research Center in Haikou, and delivered a speech entitled "Promoting the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island through responsible tourism guided by the idea of ecological civilization".

As we all know, tourism is the pillar industry of Hainan Province. Hainan has extremely rich natural resources and tourism resources.How to develop the tourism industry well? The answer is to develop the responsible tourism.

Responsible tourism is a way of traveling that aims to have a positive impact on the environment, local communities, and wildlife. It involves tourists, businesses, governments, and local people taking responsibility for the economic, social, and environmental effects of tourism. Responsible tourism is different from sustainable tourism, which focuses on holding organizations accountable for reducing their environmental impact. Responsible tourism places the responsibility on both individuals and companies to reduce their impact on the environment and communities.
