National People's Congress deputies, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and experts in related fields have been invited to join the discussion. ["Two Sessions": the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China & Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) ]

Hainan and Guangxi are both large marine provinces, and play a crucial rule in building China into a strong maritime country. The Chinese White Dolphin ( Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin), a key wild animal under national protection, lives in these waters.

The Chinese white dolphin is very sensitive to environmental changes and can be an indicator of the health of the marine ecosystem. Their survival can reflect the overall health of the marine ecosystem, including water quality, the integrity of the food chain, etc., and serve as the flagship species of the marine ecosystem.

With the gradual implementation of China's “double-carbon” strategy, the research and application of clean energy has been widely promoted across the country, including the planning and layout of offshore wind power projects. The harmony between offshore wind power and Chinese White Dolphin protection is of demonstrative and guiding significance to build China into a strong maritime country.

This "Two Sessions" Symposium will focus on the above issues and discuss them in the context of the recommendations. At the meeting, a number of national society research topics will be established and approved, with long-term financial support from the proposed CBCGDF Chinese White Dolphin Special Fund. The Editorial Committee of the CBCGDF's e-journal “Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development”and the WeChat Official Account "OceanWetlands” will jointly provide academic support for this meeting.

Experts, scholars, volunteers and managers who are interested in Chinese White Dolphin conservation, marine ecology and sustainable development are welcome to apply for the conference.
