CBCGDF OceanWetlands Working Group Held a Workshop on Biodiversity Communication
On the afternoon of 16 December 2024, the OceanWetlands Working Group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) held a meeting on biodiversity communication. The aim of the meeting was to explore how to effectively disseminate information on biodiversity conservation in the oceans and wetlands, and help Chinese scientists to actively participate in global environmental governance.
The meeting emphasised the key role of marine and wetland ecosystems in the global environment. The editors said that by enhancing biodiversity communication, public awareness of these ecosystems can be raised and conservation actions promoted, especially in the face of threats such as climate change and environmental pollution. During the meeting, participants shared observations on previous dissemination situations and suggested some improvements.
Participants also discussed a variety of communication strategies, notably the use of new communication channels. At the same time, it was considered necessary to make the communication content more vivid and convincing by combining scientific data and successful cases to attract more people to pay attention to the protection of oceans and wetlands.
