CBCGDF Deputy Secretary-General XIAO Qing: From New Energy to Dark Night Starry Sky Protection, Corporate Actions Promote Low Carbon

On December 12, 2024, the "Photosynthetic Future, Green Fashion-Dongfeng Liuqi Green China Tour" event came to an end. Mr. XIAO Qing, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), was invited to attend the closing ceremony and made a keynote speech on the company's active implementation of the new development concept and the comprehensive promotion of green and low-carbon transformation in conjunction with this public welfare event.

Mr. Xiao Qing pointed out that this event not only demonstrated Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd's positive achievements in green transformation, but also brought together multiple forces to jointly promote ecological civilization construction and biodiversity protection. Against the backdrop of increasingly severe global climate change and resource constraints, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd can actively implement the new development concept and lead the green transformation of the automotive industry, which not only enhances the well-being of contemporary society, but also benefits the long-term. As the "dual carbon" goal becomes the top-level development strategy of the country, practicing the green development concept has become a necessary condition for enterprises to achieve sustainable development.

Xiao emphasized that enterprises are not only the main body of economic activities, but also an important force to promote social progress, ecological environmental protection, and actively participate in global environmental governance. Therefore, enterprises should actively pay attention to and respond to environmental challenges to achieve a win-win situation of economic benefits and social value. As part of the "Dongfeng Liuzhou Green China Tour" public welfare activity, CBCGDF and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd jointly launched the "Wind Star Sea Dark Night Starry Sky Protection" activity. The public welfare team drove new energy vehicles to the dark night starry sky protection area in Kaihua County, Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and further enhanced the public's awareness and participation in environmental protection by holding environmental protection lectures, issuing initiatives, and lighting the "Green Travel Carbon Neutrality Torch" and other activities.

Xiao highly praised Dongfeng’s efforts in technological innovation and model innovation, as well as its outstanding achievements in the field of new energy vehicles. He said that Dongfeng has continuously developed more efficient, environmentally friendly and safe models by deeply exploring the deep integration of emerging technologies such as new energy, the Internet, and artificial intelligence with the automotive industry, setting an example for the green development of the automotive industry. This public welfare activity is themed "Photosynthetic Future, Green Popularity", which is very distinctive, allowing the public to be green and popular all the way under the guidance of new energy technology, and jointly protect the beautiful earth home.

Xiao called on more companies to respond to the national call, fulfill their social responsibilities, and promote the positive development of the ecological environment with practical actions, just like Dongfeng. Xiao said that CBCGDF will continue to encourage and support companies to practice the new development concept, innovate and forge ahead, and truly achieve green and low-carbon transformation. I believe that with the joint efforts of all sectors of society, we will be able to jointly explore new paths for sustainable development and contribute wisdom and strength to global environmental governance.
