The Deputy Secretary General of CBCGDF Gave a Special Lecture at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Calling on Young People to Lead the Ecological Future

On December 5, 2024, Ms. Wang Huo, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), delivered a lecture at Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) titled "Youth Leading the Future: Actively Participating in Global Environmental Governance." The lecture emphasized the importance of youth and explored how to promote their active participation in international environmental governance. Ms. Wang Huo shared her observations and practical experiences, demonstrating the potential and development space of youth in global environmental agenda.

The lecture highlighted two cases showcasing youth involvement in global environmental governance. The first case involved students from Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College participating in the 5th session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for the "Plastic Treaty." The second case was a student from Tianjin Foreign Studies University attending the "Green School and Youth Teachers International Experience Exchange Project" during the UNFCCC COP29 in Azerbaijan, emphasizing the role of youth in promoting environmental education and sustainable development.

Ms. Wang Huo called on youth to pay attention to global environmental changes and challenges, enhance their professional quality and international cooperation awareness, and become the backbone of global environmental governance. She encouraged students to transform their knowledge and abilities into action and devote themselves to the cause of global environmental governance and sustainable development. During the discussion session, students actively asked questions, and Ms. Wang Huo encouraged them to embrace the world with an open attitude, lead in green lifestyles, and actively participate in international conferences and forums to enhance their influence in global environmental governance.
