Bridging Continents: Professor Lamin K. M. Fatty Visits CBCGDF and Explores China-Africa Agricultural Synergies

On December 2-3, 2024, Associate Professor Lamin K. M. Fatty, from the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of The Gambia, visited the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) in Beijing. He was accompanied by Professor Frederick Charles Dubee.   During his visit, Professor Fatty participated in an interview with CBCGDF-Media, where he provided insights into agricultural developments in The Gambia and shared his perspectives on China-Africa agricultural cooperation.   In addition, Professor Fatty and Professor Dubee toured the CBCGDF Science Museum in Beijing’s Daxing District, learning about the Foundation’s work in biodiversity conservation and green development. CBCGDF BASE Sent a Letter to The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong, Requesting to Participate in the Study of Dissecting the Stranded Beaked Whales

On November 30, 2024, a whale stranded in the waters of Tai O, Hong Kong. After receiving the report, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong promptly coordinated with relevant departments and a joint expert team to carry out rescue work.   It is a pity that the rescue was not successful in the end, but we hope to learn from every natural loss to avoid more serious ecological disasters in the future. On December 2, the Biological and Scientific Ethics Committee of the China Green Development Foundation sent a letter to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong, hoping to jointly participate in the autopsy study of the death of beaked whales and jointly explore the scientific data accumulated in this incident. INC-5 Closing Statements by Representatives of Countries Around the World | CBCGDF INC-5 Delegation Reports

From November 25 to December 1, 2024, the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for a Legally Binding International Instrument on Plastic Pollution, including Plastic Pollution in the Marine Environment" (INC-5) was held in Busan, South Korea. As an observer to the INC-5, in order to actively participate in the global plastic pollution governance, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has sent the CBCGDF INC-5 delegation of 5 people to attend on site the meeting in Busan, South Korea. At 20:30 local time on December 1, 2024, after a series of difficult negotiations and delays, the INC Chair announced the adjournment of INC-5.1 held in Busan, South Korea. At 9:30 am. local time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on December 2, 2024, the UNCCD COP16  delegation of six people from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) attended the opening ceremony of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD   COP16) held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The theme of the COP16  is "Our Land. Our Future". The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, concluded with active participation from Chinese youth representatives   including   Li Yu , a representative of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation   (CBCGDF) . The summit brought together over a hundred countries' representatives, experts, industry leaders, and youth to discuss sustainable development in the context of global climate action.
