Welcome to Participate in the Revision of the "ESG Evaluation Standard" | CBCGDF Standard Committee

On the morning of October 12, 2024, the Standard Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) held the "ESG Evaluation Standard" revision kick-off meeting. The meeting was chaired by Mr. MA Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF, and the standard revision team attended the meeting.

The "ESG Evaluation Standard" (T/CGDF 00011-2021) is an evaluation standard issued by the CBCGDF on September 29, 2021, and  implemented from October 4, 2021. The "ESG Evaluation Standard" has been issued and implemented for more than 3 years. The standard revision should be updated in a timely manner to add distinctive and innovative content.

Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, CBCGDF Secretary-General, put forward several suggestions from different perspectives:Whether the materials involved in the construction of the park fully consider the 4R (reduce, reuse, recycle, replace) principle. This is very important, including the entire life cycle, including considering the 4R of the park 100 years later. The specificity of the plot should be investigated from underground, above ground and in the air. If this is not taken seriously, the others will be just a glimpse of the whole. The construction process, operation process, shutdown and subsequent processes should all be given full attention, especially the green design prepared for the operation process is very important. The consensus of ecological civilization thought of all participants, especially the owner, including the construction party, supplier and customer, and the use of ESG tools are very important.

ESG is closely related to biodiversity and climate protection. The newly revised standards should better reflect them and demonstrate the responsibility and influence of the CBCGDF.. We should fully learn from the latest progress of ESG research at home and abroad, the composition of the assessment personnel should be scientific and reasonable, and the indicator system and overall content should be updated. It is necessary to reflect the concepts of ecological responsibility, neighborhood biodiversity protection, humanism, etc., and guide the standardized and healthy development of ESG evaluation.

All units and experts in ESG environment, society, and governance related fields are welcome to participate in the revision of the standard. Contact: Ms. Qin: (+86)18910282269 ;  v23@cbcgdf.org
