Stop Killing Migratory Birds | CBCGDF Volunteers in Action
During the National Day holiday in 2024, with the arrival of this year's autumn and winter bird migration season, volunteers from the CBCGDF Suihua Wetland Conservation Area, law enforcement officers from the Suihua City Beilin District Food, Drug and Environmental Crime Investigation Brigade, police officers from the Baoshan Town Police Station, and volunteers from other social organizations began to get busy again.
Starting from October 1, volunteers and law enforcement officers cooperated with each other to carry out patrol work continuously to escort migratory birds passing through Suihua Beilin District.
During the patrol, the joint patrol officers found a bird-catching net in the woods near Xinlitun Village, Baoshan Town, and immediately rescued and released three wild birds. After multiple surveillance and investigations, the suspected bird catcher was finally identified and brought back for investigation. After criticism and education, the bird catcher realized that this behavior was illegal, and immediately admitted his mistake with a good attitude. The joint patrol officers gave him a warning and punishment.
Volunteers called for: As migratory birds arrive this year, they hope that all sectors of society can actively monitor and report illegal bird hunting activities, and jointly maintain ecological balance and biodiversity.
