CBCGDF Signed a MOU with the International Parliamentarians Congress to Promote Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development

On the afternoon of September 24, 2024, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), agreeing to carry out exchanges and cooperation in biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, community protected areas, etc.

 


Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CBCGDF, and Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary General of IPC signed the memorandum of understanding online. The two sides agreed to cooperate through joint initiatives, information sharing, capacity building, research, and publicity work, and will promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development initiatives worldwide; increase awareness and publicity of environmental justice and public interest processes; promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise and resources to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices; enhance the capacity of grassroots communities for biodiversity conservation and green development through capacity building initiatives and support for community protected areas, etc.

 

Biodiversity is essential to addressing climate change, as biodiversity and the ecosystem functions and services it provides support all forms of life on Earth, underpin the health and well-being of people and the planet, and promote economic growth and sustainable development. Protecting and restoring natural spaces on land and in water is essential to controlling carbon emissions and adapting to a changing climate. Both sides expressed their willingness to jointly contribute to biodiversity networks, climate change and sustainable development.

The 2024 World Water Forum Opens in Indonesia's Bali

The 2024 World Water Forum (10th WWF) under the theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity" officially opened on Indonesia's island of Bali on Monday. This year ’ s theme emphasizes the need to work together to promote efficient and integrated water resources management to common prosperity.
