China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will jointly held a side event on Oct 22 at CFS 52 with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Alliance Bioversity-CIAT, International Fund for Agricultural Development, International Land Coalition, One Planet Network Sustainable Food Systems Programme, Rights and Resources Initiative, Switzerland, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme, etc.

With the CFS Multi-year Programme of Work (MyPOW) 2024–2027 prioritizing climate change and biodiversity as key areas for achieving SDG 2, this side event will emphasize the importance of aligning national targets under the Rio Conventions (UNFCCC, CBD, UNCCD), including targets of sustainable agrifood systems. The side event also aligns with MyPOW roles one and five, which aim for CFS to promote global coordination and accountability, and to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness through best practices at all levels.

Through presentations, discussions, successful case studies, and tools to support countries in strengthening policy coherence across climate, biodiversity, land, and food systems agendas, this side event will explore solutions to mitigate climate change, combat biodiversity loss, and prevent land degradation while protecting land rights.
