CBCGDF Volunteers Reflect the Need to Strengthen Supervision of the Random Dumping of Industrial Waste in Rural landfills
Recently, volunteers from the China Green Foundation reported that toxic and hazardous industrial waste residues and waste liquids were collected several times at the construction waste landfill in Zhangjiagang Village, Longquan Town, Anyang City, Henan Province.
Previously, after this situation was discovered twice in January 2022 and February 2024, the local ecological and environmental department rushed to the scene as soon as possible and ordered relevant departments to take emergency measures for the landfill.
However, after the incident, the landfill not only did not make any rectifications, but continued to collect industrial waste even more unscrupulously.
Nowadays, with the progress of the times and the development of society, my country has made remarkable achievements in urban management and environmental protection, especially the management of industrial waste and hazardous waste, which has become increasingly strict. Unexpectedly, today's Zhangjiagang Village construction waste landfill is still illegally collecting a large amount of toxic and harmful industrial waste slag and waste liquid.
To this end, we urgently call on the local government and relevant departments in Anyang to take more resolute and effective measures:
1. Strengthen the enforcement of laws and regulations
2. Promote information disclosure and public participation
3. Optimize the garbage disposal system
4. Strengthen environmental education and publicity
5. Promote green transformation
