CBCGDF Marine Conservation Area of Daqingzhen Island (CCAfa223) Established | Jointly Building the Marine Ecological Great Wall

On the journey of biodiversity conservation, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Conservation Area Working Group has once again taken a step forward by announcing the official establishment of the CBCGDF Conservation Area · Daqingzhen. This action not only highlights the commitment of ecological conservation organizations to marine conservation but also provides new impetus for addressing the challenges of marine biodiversity and promoting ecological balance. The establishment of this conservation area marks a new progress of the CBCGDF Conservation Area Working Group in the field of marine ecological protection.

Daqingzhen Island is located about 45 nautical miles east of Hong Kong and about 13 nautical miles south of Shanwei. The island and its surrounding waters are an important ecological hub for fish migration and reproduction, with significant seasonal water flows bringing ecological diversity and complex seabed terrain providing good habitats for a variety of organisms. The establishment of this CCAfa helps to protect and restore these valuable marine resources, respond to global biodiversity conservation action agendas and goals such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and promote sustainable development.

The CBCGDF Conservation Area Working Group plans to take a series of scientific and effective conservation measures, including:

1. Promoting Public Awareness

By carrying out various science popularization and education activities, we aim to raise public awareness and participation in marine biodiversity conservation.

2. Promoting the Inclusion of Daqingzhen in the National Marine Conservation Area

Through expert policy recommendations, we aim to include Daqingzhen Island and its surrounding waters into the national marine conservation area to ensure long-term and effective protection of the ecosystem in this region.
